||This is probably one of these numbers............. Think twice before returning that missed call: A new phone scam calls users without giving them enough time to answer, then tricks them into dialing pricey foreign chat lines. The B B B has issued a warning about the scam, which appears to be targeting mobile-phone owners in the United States. The one-ring scam works as follows: A computer program originating outside the U.S. dials American customers and lets the phone ring exactly once before hanging up. These calls are often from countries around the Caribbean. Calling back is generally not the best idea, as the lines connect to premium chat lines. In addition to charging a $ international calling fee, these lines also charge users for each minute spent connected. Simply receiving the missed call is harmless, so your best bet is to ignore any missed calls from unknown numbers.

||By the nationwide block are you saying you signed up for the Do Not Call list? The Do Not Call List is not a way to block calls. Its a list telemarketers are required by law to buy from the US federal government, then not call the numbers on the list. For a scammer that's just one more law to break.

Je lui demande de me laisser un numéro pour la rejoindre et me donne ... Poste .. J'ai appelé.. Ils donnent des indications pour le poste à composer et des choix .. Pour le soutien le.. Bla bla le etc. Si vous faites un des choix et attendez.... Plus de bruit... Faites ATTENTION ça sent pas bon....
||A Rev. Fisher called me this morning explaining that I won $. Million and a new car.. Since I did not enter the sweepstakes I think this is scam. Then the Rev. Fisher said there was a fee of just $ and they would release the funds to my bank. I hung up. A few minutes later a Mr Paris called back who said he was the bank manager and would be happy to have the $ wired to him through a Western Union account. I hung up again. They called back. It sounds like the same man to me. BothOne has heavy accent. This is a SCAM.

||Informational Post : ***Warning***This is a scam originating from several Caribbean islands, including Grenada (area code 473), Dominica (area code 767), Jamaica (area code 876), Montserrat (area code 664), Turks and Caicos Islands (area code 649), Antigua and Barbuda (area code 268), Barbados (area code 246), and Anguilla (area code 264). This scam seems to have started in Grenada and has quickly spread to a number of other Caribbean islands. Here’s a link to all of the Caribbean area codes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_codes_in_the_Caribbean The original scam attempted to lure the called party to return the call to the Caribbean number by calling at inappropriate times (e.g., early morning), ringing only once or twice, and not leaving a message. The called party would incur international and other phone charges for a return call, with a portion of the proceeds going to the scammers. The latest iterations of this scam have combined the cramming feature with other scams (i.e., prizes, debt collections, “computer virus” problems, etc.).Please read ANonieMouse's post in the Forum for more information about this scam:“DON'T CALL BACK MISSED CALLS FROM CARIBBEAN PHONE NUMBERS (Revised 1/29/2014)”http://800notes.com/forum/ta-94efc6f5262e6c1/ ... vised-1-29-2014

||I just received the second call from this number on my cell phone. The first around 11pm, this one just before 8am.Not sure how they got my number, have not signed up for anything, didn't use our credit cards at any of the stores that had problems. Unless getting a new gmail address could have done it, the first call came right after I did that now that I think about it. Seems like they have an awful lot of ways to get our numbers.
||Received two calls from this number. One last week and one this morning. I didn't answer or call back. The phone rings 2 times and hangs up.

||you don't need to have your number anywhere, the scam has a computer dial every number in a given limit ex:920-285- 0000 thru 9999if you call it back (and many do) you will be charged on your phone bill $20.00 + $9.00 a minutebe glad you had a prepaid with not enough on it to call (others are not so lucky)

||I keep getting "hang up" calls from this number, they never leave a message.
||The scheme: the scammer often leaves a message typically asking consumers to call what appears to be an ordinary long-distance telephone number to confirm a lottery prize, or to get information about a relative who has been injured in an accident. In each case, you are told to call the number right away. Since there are so many new area codes these days, people unknowingly return the calls. Once the number is dialed, the scam artist will try to keep you on the phone as long as possible to increase the charges. Unfortunately, when you get your phone bill, you might find that you’ve been charged $2500 per minute.
||I believe that this is a Telemarketer due to short call and no message left for me in order to decide whether to call back. I do not know this person at all.
