Said his name was John McMillan and that a lawyer would stop by to deliver paper work and a truck driver would delive my prize. Hung up after that, they tried to call me back..

Just called me again 3 times in a row right after I posted - haha.  Last time i didn't say anything, I just left it off the hook to see how long they hung on.  So irritating.  Maybe they have to pay for long distance?  Probably not..

I got a call from 876-423-9454 (Jamaica) saying I won 850,000 dollars and a new Mercedes and at first I was like wow this is awesome then he told me I had to go buy a money pack and too hurry up cause they were 45 min away and after that I knew it was  so I wanted to  with him a little bit. I told him to call me back in 40 min and im going to go get all this stuff he calls me back 40 min later and he asks if I bought the money pack and where I was at. and I said no not yet im waiting in line to buy it and wont be back in time to receive package and he says that's ok they are still 45 min away. hahah yeah right like there actually coming. so then I tell him I wont buy this until I receive my winnings and he says it doesn't work like that blah blah blah. so I tell him I will call him back in 5 min. I call him back acting as a police officer saying that we are going to trace this number and then he all of the sudden hung up haha what d bag. then I called him about 40 times and left him 40 5 min voicemails just to  with him( I had nothing better to do at that moment haha) but anyway long story short don't give in to these   .

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.<br />This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.<br /><a href="/~sys~/r/?eu=UGZvNUYlJXQ5ADOtMHbvJHdu92Y0JXYtN3L0VmbuQHdh5yd3d3LvoDc0RHa">http://www.att.net/smartcontrols-809AreaCode</a><br /><br />Scammers use these numbers to not only try to scam you out of money, but also sting you with high phone call rates.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0119-jamaican-fraudsters-targeting-us-consumers">http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0119-jam ... ng-us-consumers</a><br /><a href="http://www.dhs.gov/news/2013/03/13/written-testimony-ice-senate-special-committee-aging-hearing-titled-%E2%80%9C876-scam">http://www.dhs.gov/news/2013/03/13/written-te ... 2%80%9C876-scam</a><br /><br />Do report the calls, Jamaican and US officials are still actively tracking down and arresting the offenders:<br /><a href="https://800notes.com/forum/ta-8476d8cae08c200/another-%27mon%27-bites-the-dust">https://800notes.com/forum/ta-8476d8cae08c200 ... -bites-the-dust</a>.

He wanted $400.00 to process my prizes.<br /><br />LOL why do they not accept that I know he's trying to scam me?<br /><br />I won a Honda motorcycle in the past, from 7UP.  All I had to pay was the sales tax when I picked up the bike.<br />I kept him on the phone so he couldn't use that time scamming someone who might fall for his scam. i'm feeling ripped off... all i won is 1 million dollars and no mention of a car...the man who called me is Javoan Baskin from the Jamaica number 876.461.5954 and he apparently didnt do well in math b/c  he told me to send him $250 for processing the check and $45 per month for holding the check for 5 mos... when i asked him what the total amount was, he told me $390, LOL....Imagine, hes ripping himself off of some money b/c he cant add!!!! and thank you fQ2 for posting the federal trade commissions information b/c i called them and filled out a complaint report. i called the state police last night(sunday 3/18/12) to see if they had someone investigating these complaints or could refer me to someone they knew of, they gave me the fraud hotline who told me theres nothing they can do to help, the guy said he was helpless in even stopping the phone calls, so i am grateful to be able to put in a complaint... and since this is a SCAM, i guess youre telling me i better keep reporting to work daily, huh??? my plan was to drive this guy crazy by playing stupid and having him repeat himself several times but the man at the ftc suggested i not speak to him anymore b /c hes afraid there may be some type of technology out that would actually have me paying for the phone calls even tho i didnt initiate the call, so, anyone with this great idea, be forewarned, you could be talking yourself for a big fat phonebill..

I received a call from 876-485-6612 and 876-508-4262 from a man with an accent. His name was Kevin Pearson from Global International Publishing Clearing House. He claimed I had won 8.5 million dollars, tax-free. He said the government wanted me to have the money and he would fly in to bring me a check. He never showed up. I went to the Offical website for the Publishing Clearing House and called their customer service number  at (800)459-4724 They assured me this was NOT their company and that I should contact the local authorities, which I did..

Received a call from this number today from a guy saying that his name was Mark Anderson (he definitely had an accent).  He asked if I had heard of Publishers clearing house and that I had won 2.5 million plus a Mercedes E class.  He gave me another number to call (866) 996-5997 and to give them the confirmation number he had given to me and they would tell me what to do..he also asked if I believed in god and wanted the life I had always dreamed of.  He also asked where I was at the time he called.  Needless to say I did not call as I sensed this was a scam.

Same number; but also gave her office number of 206 424 6696; when googled, led to 1 876 599 6800<br /><br />Suspicion aroused when she (Vanessa Spence--name she gave me) insisted I call back within 45 minutes. Then, I also surprised her when she gave me the address of their business ("The Mega Million State Lottery")  as 3000 Las Vegas Blvd in Nevada), but didn't realize she had not given me a city, and didn't clue in when I insisted on a city; eventually, she offered "Terry" ("as in the name") Nevada.<br /><br />She even invoked "FTC" (Federal Trade Commission) name. She called back within 5 minutes after we hang up--twice; but I ignored her calls. She--this one--has a gravelly voice, by the way.<br /><br />Thank goodness for Google, assuming that you didn't believe your intuition and reasoning that this was too good to be true, especially since you didn't enter any sweepstakes.<br /><br />My advice: when in doubt, Google!<br />Even if you know it, confirm or verify or profile with Google<br /><br />.

My parents got scammed by American Cash Awards. A guy named Victor Fernandez from Jamaica New York. He had them to wire Kyla Moncricess 280.00 dollars when he received the money then a guy would come to their house with the money and a 2013 BMW. If they would have told me sooner about this they would not have done it. My parents live on a fixed income and they barely make it month to month. This guy and all these scammers need to be stopped. The number he called from is 1-876-463-3276. So if anyone sees this number show up on your phone or a Victor Fernandez calls you he is a fake..

I saw a spot on the NBC Today Show on Friday November 25th about the latest scam--someone claiming to be from UPS and asking for your bank account information.  A few minutes later, my cellphone rang--showing 876-398-4977.  It was a guy with what sounded like an Indian accent claiming to be from UPS, asking if I would be home for delivery of a certified package at 1pm.  I told him I wasn't sure.  He went on to say that it was a certified package and I needed to be home to accept it.  I repeated that I wasn't sure.  He said it was a 2011 Chevrolet car. I laughed and asked him, "So now you want my bank account info, right?"  He said (apologies for the verbatim) "Dirty Mother " and hung up.  Stupidly I called the number back and got a voicemailbox.  I left a message that he had a foul mouth..

got this call at work on my cell.... after a long day i then called this number back to find out i had WON a brand spanking new BMW!!!!!! Oh i was so thrilled that i jotted down the info given to me buy this 'Publishers Clearing House' person that did not identify them self or was just fine telling me i had won but did not need my name! A told to call Mr. James Hunt at 876-390-9415 with ref # 72298. A I thought this was to good to be true (i figure that a person in this line of work for Publishers Clearing House most likely would not have a TV on and a small kid in the background asking for a 'dink' ) and after about 30 seconds of searching on Google i had my answer.... big surprise it is a scam, oh darn the luck.... i wanted that car i had won but NEVER signed up for.....EVER!!! A  LOL A  Jokes on him as i recorded him calling me back pressing me to call the 1800# A  P.S. its O.K. to do this as the prosecuting attorney in my county is a family friend, so now instead of laughing all the way to the bank maybe i will have a day in court!!! A hope this helps ppl!!.

I call him back acting as a police officer saying that we are going to trace this number and then he all of the sudden hung up haha what d bag. then I called him about 40 times and left him 40 5 min voicemails just to  with him( I had nothing better to do at that moment haha) but anyway long story short don't give in to these   876

I didn't answer the call, didn't  know who or what was calling. 876

I just got a call from this number. I don't know anyone in Jamaica 876

Scam.  Do not call back. 876

If you can block all of 876, do it. Unless you have ordered Red Stripe beer from Jamaica (the country, not the borough of New York City) don't take any calls from this area code. 876

-bites-the-dust</a> 876

PLEASE PASS THIS ON!!! 876-472-9372...THIS IS JORDAN FROM JAMAICA TRYING TO SCAM PEOPLE! HANG UP IMMEDIATELY AND DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK! It is an international call and you will be charged if you call it back.He called me saying he was from T-mobile. I googled him and he seems to be targeting people from Louisiana. Please report it if he calls you. I reported it to FTC. Also call whom ever he says he is a rep for and report it to them also. 876

Caller said I won $2,000,000.00 cash and a 2016 Mercedes. From publishers Clearing House. I'm disabled. I have plenty of time to waste theirs. 876

Just got a call on my cell phone from 876-591-4461, a man with a foreign accent stated he was from publishers clearing house and I had just won a whopping $4.5mil and new Mercedes. I laughed and said yeah right, he asked why I was laughing, did I think this was a scam and I said yes. He then stated he was having trouble hearing me and hung. 876

Got a call from 876-825-3691, caller ID said Jamaica but I didn't answer. Glad now I didn't ! Thank you for this website and all the people who report on here! 876

Got a random call from this number, would like to know who, where and why please.Thanks. 876

876-860-0231 had called me stating that I won a large amount of money and tried getting me to give him my debit card information. This number is a scam and somethino needs done before they steal money from other innocent people. 876

i'm feeling ripped off... all i won is 1 million dollars and no mention of a car...the man who called me is Javoan Baskin from the Jamaica number 876.461.5954 and he apparently didnt do well in math b/c  he told me to send him $250 for processing the check and $45 per month for holding the check for 5 mos... when i asked him what the total amount was, he told me $390, LOL....Imagine, hes ripping himself off of some money b/c he cant add!!!! and thank you fQ2 for posting the federal trade commissions information b/c i called them and filled out a complaint report. i called the state police last night(sunday 3/18/12) to see if they had someone investigating these complaints or could refer me to someone they knew of, they gave me the fraud hotline who told me theres nothing they can do to help, the guy said he was helpless in even stopping the phone calls, so i am grateful to be able to put in a complaint... and since this is a SCAM, i guess youre telling me i better keep reporting to work daily, huh??? my plan was to drive this guy crazy by playing stupid and having him repeat himself several times but the man at the ftc suggested i not speak to him anymore b /c hes afraid there may be some type of technology out that would actually have me paying for the phone calls even tho i didnt initiate the call, so, anyone with this great idea, be forewarned, you could be talking yourself for a big fat phonebill. 876

I went to the Offical website for the Publishing Clearing House and called their customer service number  at (800)459-4724 They assured me this was NOT their company and that I should contact the local authorities, which I did. 876

Scam from Kingston Jamaica-Said he was from Publisher's Clearing House.  Said no thank you and blocked the number. 876

Caller said his name was john miller with publishers cleaning house and that i was a winner. I told him i did not beleive him and hung up immediately. 876

This is a scammer, never , never pay anyone when they say you have won a lot of money.   They are from Jamaica. 876

Needless to say I did not call as I sensed this was a scam 876

I too was taken 876

She--this one--has a gravelly voice, by the way.<br /><br />Thank goodness for Google, assuming that you didn't believe your intuition and reasoning that this was too good to be true, especially since you didn't enter any sweepstakes.<br /><br />My advice: when in doubt, Google!<br />Even if you know it, confirm or verify or profile with Google<br /><br /> 876

told me i won a bunch of money from publishers clearing house jamaica popped up on my phone not sure what the scam was no personal information was disclosed all they knew was i was in montana 876

So if anyone sees this number show up on your phone or a Victor Fernandez calls you he is a fake. 876

at 07:37 a.m. a call waking me (i'm a caregiver for a 92 year old male client) to speak to my client about being a winner. A her name: A Audrey Reed who claims to be calling from Stockton CA and works for Bank of America. A unable to find who REALLY owns this number. 876

Spoke to Michael James a few minutes ago.  He wants me to send them 550.00 dollars so I can get my 450,000 american dollars.  I am the second place winner of a sweepstakes I never entered. 876

A male caller with a think accent called stating that I won 200 million dollars, i hung up on him b/c 1.he called my house phone and I called back from my cell phone, gave him a fake name and he said he had my file in front of him. After I hung up he called back several times, and then finally left a v/m. Please be very careful, I looked on other websites and they are charging you for the calls, and the longer you are on the call the more you get billed a month or two later. 876

Scammer<br />Mr. Anderson from Mega Millions calling to inform you that you have won 4 million and a Mercedes Benz car.<br />UPS will be delivering it. We are in town and will be in town until we are able to give you the reward.<br />We understand your skepticism and you will be surprised.<br />Wait we need you to pay $100 for shipping and handling even though we are in your local town right now which doesn't have a motel for the scammers to stay at and UPS is delivering even though the scammer is supposedly a mile away.<br />And the most stupid scammer award goes to....<br />Mr. Anderson with a heavy accent and slow speaking English!!!<br />Your grand prize is me wasting your time for about 20 minutes and hanging up on you without transferring money via Western Union to you! 876

Called to say I won PCH prize, sounded like a slow robot. 876

I left a message that he had a foul mouth. 876

Congratulations!  is is the American Cash Rewards association with Mega Millions Lottery company and I just won myself 850,000!!!!  but no $ sign ... what a nut job.  also used number8764601420  from 4155831170 876

got this call at work on my cell.... after a long day i then called this number back to find out i had WON a brand spanking new BMW!!!!!! A hope this helps ppl!! 876

Told me I won money 876

Got a call saying they were Publishers Clearing House and I had won $800,000.00 and a Mercedes. Caller who called me was from a blocked number and said I needed to call this number (876) 577-5117 And Ask for Michael James at Extension #1. Never called back as a little research show this is a scam from Jamaica. 876
