2109106076 Rec'd the same type of call today ( : a -m - EST) as listed above by DRM on -  We only have phone with AT&T not internet and the barely speaking English guy said we would be with AT&T after installation -  I advised if this is only for internet they don't need to come here -  He hung up -  But before that he scheduled me for an update on Wed at : a -m - with a digit code for "security" (it's the last digits of our phone number - that's secure duh) -  I called the number back after the guy hung up on me -  I rec'd a recorded message saying "no one is available to take your call, bye-bye" then click -  I then called AT&T - - -they are doing a change in lines, but who is calling isn't AT&T or working on their behalf - - -give them no info -

Post by DRM,

210-910-6076 At :AM CST on , a male with a Haitian Caribbean Jamaican sounding voice called from -- claiming to be calling from AT&T, asking to speak to the person in charge of the AT&T phone account, stating that the telephone line for the business was going to be upgraded without charge from copper to fiber optic on at AM at my location to improve quality of service, etc - Multiple voices and activity could be heard in the caller's background, as if many calls were being placed from the caller’s location - The caller told me my passcode was , the last four digits of the business number, and that the installer would be asking for this code for security reasons when they came - The caller asked for and received the business email address (from which this email was sent) to send confirmation of the installation plan details for my reference review - The caller then asked for the business tax ID number - I refused to provide it and asked why that was relevant - "Additional security" was the response, with the caller saying to have the tax ID number ready for the installer, as that info would be requested as well at the time of installation - The caller then asked if the business was a sole proprietorship - I refused to provide this info as well - The caller then stated what the phone charges would be after installation for phone and internet services - I made clear I was not approving any change in service or charges during the phone call - The caller then said no change in my account would occur, wished me a good day, and hung up - My sense was that the caller was phishing for identifying information that could be used to further commit fraud under the guise pretense of advising me about installation of fiber optic lines - I've notified AT&T -
